Brash and high-spirited Toronto native SadBoi tailors her sound for dancefloors with a mix of garage, house, and several styles informed by her Caribbean heritage, including dancehall, lovers rock, baile funk, and reggaeton. During the late 2010s and into 2021, under the name Ebhoni, the vocalist and songwriter alternated between contemporary R&B and more pop-flavored material with occasional reflections of her upbringing. She changed aliases in 2022, a year in which she self-released a handful of singles, plus the six-track were all the ig girls worth it? EP. The independence anthem "Potential" highlighted her 2023 and reappeared on her first SadBoi project for LVRN Records, 2024's BARE CHAT.
