How to represent both your fiercest self and your softest, most vulnerable self? It's a question that Flara K has dealt with for most of her life. Growing up a shy kid with an obsession for books and solitude, an equal admiration for music and the arts, and consumed with the music of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and alternative RnB. Flara K began to discover her true voice with the release of her debut EP, 'Anxious, Irrational, Fashionable' in 2020, supported by an across Canada RV tour to promote the release. The EP introduced her to Montreal's bedroom pop scene where she found a place alongside other artists, equally reclusive in person as expressive as they were on stage. Here she found a home as part of the 'pandemic supergroup' Saint Zenon, co-writing and producing alongside Matt Rogers (FLEECE), Adel Kazi (Clay & Friends), Claire Ridgely, Edwin Raphael, and Oscar Louis. Two years passed in a world of collaboration, features, and top-lining, where she slowly began expanding on the sound discovered on 'Anxious, Irrational, Fashionable.' With her debut album scheduled for release in early 2025, her writing is now even more honest, even more bold, and entirely her own.
