Emma Beko is a genre-defying artist that blends melancholic songwriting with nostalgic, emotionally evocative soundscapes. Born in Budapest to a Peruvian father and Canadian-Hungarian mother, she grew up in Montreal, and her musical journey evolved in New York during her late teens, immersed in the city's rap culture. Later, as part of the Montreal-based duo Heartstreets, she helped carve a space for women in Canadian hip-hop. As a solo artist, Emma’s music has garnered widespread acclaim with projects like BLUE, Digital Damage, and Superficial Stains, each showcasing her unflinching exploration of profound personal and existential themes, cementing her as a distinctive voice in modern music with a deeply personal and universal appeal. Her upcoming album, Cicada, draws inspiration from lo-fi acoustic folk and cinematic ambient soundscapes and features artists such as Nailah Hunter, CFCF, and Sophia Bel. It is set to come out Fall of 2025.
