Dopamine Dream

Dopamine Dream

Dopamine Dream invites us to take a "deep rest" from our roles, offering a unique blend of music they call Gnome Rock—the secret soundtrack that awakens static garden gnomes, inspiring their mischievous frolicking. As acclaimed Newfoundland writer Michael Winter describes, their sound blends tremolo, Jethro Tull, Devendra Banhart, and David Bowie, with influences of The Police’s Synchronicity filtered through a mellotron. The band is led by Peirson Ross, the main songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist. Jay Crafton, also known as Boy Wonder, is a multi-instrumentalist drummer and sound engineer, known for pushing musical boundaries. His versatility allows him to sing harmonies and channel the styles of Bonham, Baker, and Ringo. Ben Bombier plays bass, driving the rhythm with Jay while contributing guitar arrangements. Andrew Rucklidge, aka Bobbe Ruck, adds texture with his Wurlitzer, B3, and synths, crafting a painterly approach to sound design. Together, Dopamine Dream crafts a sonic world that’s both experimental and emotionally explosive. Their single "Unknown" is a triumph of imagination over depression, celebrating a minimalist, pioneer life that urges listeners to confront their dark side through active imagination and music.
