Toronto, ON – March 10, 2025 – The Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada (GMSC) in collaboration with Departure Festival + Conference are proud to announce the fifth Canadian Sync Awards. Celebrating music supervisor excellence and the sync community across Canada, The Canadian Sync Awards will take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Annabel’s Music Hall, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For submissions and criteria, visit guildofmusicsupervisors.ca.
Last year’s awards saw an amazing turnout of over 300 attendees, with standout performances by Nyssa, Ari Hicks, and Sadboi,” said Michael A. Perlmutter, co-producer of the Sync Awards and former president of GMSC. “As we mark our fifth year, we’re thrilled to partner with Departure and are confident this year’s event will be an unforgettable celebration. The Guild members are eager to join our sync community colleagues, producers, filmmakers, and directors to honor the craft of music supervision and the achievements of our industry.
GMSC aims to create awareness amongst production executives of this increasingly significant role in the production of all filmed media projects, educate emerging supervisors and create community within the industry, and share knowledge amongst colleagues in Canada, collaborating on shared challenges to help foster positive change.
Partnering with the Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada for the Canadian Sync Awards is an exciting opportunity to further recognize the incredible talent within the music community,” said Kevin Barton, Executive Producer at Loft Entertainment. “Our shared commitment to support the growth of the music and film industries allows us to highlight the pivotal role that music supervision plays in bringing stories to life. We look forward to honouring the nominees this year.
