Shayla Oulette Stonechild (she/her) is a proud Red River Métis and Nehiyaw iskwew (Plains Cree woman) from Muscowpetung First Nation, and a leading voice for Indigenous wellness, empowerment, and representation. She is the Founder and Host of the Matriarch Movement, a podcast and non-profit offering Indigenous-led wellness workshops across Canada. A global yoga ambassador for lululemon and the first Indigenous person featured on the cover of Yoga Journal, Shayla has over 800 hours of yoga teacher training and has led large-scale classes including at BC Place Stadium and the Las Vegas Strip. She sits on lululemon’s global mental health advisory board and is represented by Transatlantic Agency for her upcoming book in 2025. Shayla is also a media presence, having won Canada Reads for A Two-Spirit Journey, appeared on The Amazing Race Canada, and co-hosted award-winning specials for APTN and ET Canada. Her accolades include the Indspire Award for First Nations Youth and the Dreamcatcher Foundation’s Health and Wellness Award. With over 50 brand collaborations—from Meta to Peloton—Shayla continues to amplify Indigenous voices, advocate for matriarchy, and inspire change across Turtle Island.
