Shontelle is breath of fresh air in Music. One of the first songs Shontelle wrote was “Roll It Gal,” by Alison Hinds. The song remains a Global classic. She also went on to co-write “Man Down,” the sixth single lifted from Rihanna’s fifth studio album “LOUD.” As of August 2012, “LOUD” was certified as the fifth biggest selling digital album of all time and Shontelle’s contributions on “Man Down” awarded her the title, Grammy nominated Songwriter.
She released two highly acclaimed albums from Universal Motown, “Shontelligence” (Andrew Frampton, Wayne Wilkins) and “No Gravity” ( Bruno Mars, Pitbull, Rodney Jerkins, R. City, The Dream, Tony Kanal). These albums produced 2 of Shontelle’s biggest classics, T-Shirt and Impossible. Impossible has grown to become one of the most covered sogs of all time.
She joined Beyonce on her “I Am. Tour” then went on to release Impossible, her biggest single to date and one of the world’s most covered songs to this day. She also later joined Jason Derulo, NKOTB, Lady Gaga, Akon and TPain on tour.
Notably, Shontelle’s song Stuck With Each Other, featuring Akon, and penned by Diane Warren, is the official Theme Song of the acclaimed Disney film, Confessions of A Shoppaholic.Her music has also been featured in hit TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, What If and The City.
Shontelle’s Battle Cry, was featured by Barrack Obama for his Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement, which also featured legends like Kanye West and Adam Levine.
Shontelle is currently working on new projects including finely crafted pop songs by the legendary Diane Warren, and features by Grammy winning Sean Paul and others. The collab, “Feel It” features Grammy Award winner Sean Paul, and is co-written by Corey Chorus (Rihanna, Estelle).
Shontelle continues to show off her penmanship on major releases by International Soca King Machel Montano, including Toco Loco and Slow Wine ft Afro B and most recently, Champagne, a Major Lazer collaboration. She continues to be a crucial and core member of Machel’s Creative team.
