Shanta Prince, the Barbadian beauty with an ever-present smile and a unique sound, stands in a category all her own. Blending afro-soca, spouge, dancehall and classic soca, she delivers music that is both fresh and timeless. She began as a backing vocalist with the Bacchanal Time Calypso Tent, performing with various bands and acclaimed artists such as Rupee and Biggie Irie. Stepping into the spotlight with her debut releases “Island Girl” and “Blind to See,” she quickly proved she was ready to lead. A staple of Crop Over, her breakout “Stush” earned her a Sweet Soca Semi Final spot and the Barbados Music Awards’ Female Breakthrough Artist title, followed by “Hello,” which secured a two-year FLOW endorsement across 14 Caribbean territories.
