Roella

Roella Oloro is a multi-instrumentalist and composer originally from Gloucester, UK with Jamaican and Nigerian heritage. She has performed worldwide and written music in a variety of styles ranging from trio and quartet to jazz and symphonic orchestra. She is an alumni of Berklee College of Music where she attained her Bachelor and Masters Degree under full tuition scholarships. In November 2025, she completed a US/UK tour with her jazz trio, where they performed in New York, Connecticut and Boston in the US and Gloucestershire and London in the UK. Her headline UK date was a the Royal Albert Hall as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. She has performed with her trio a the NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA each year from 2023-2026. In may 2024, she went on a mini-tour in Panama with the Global Jazz Ambassadors led by Grammy-award winning pianist Danilo Perez. She was a featured artist of the 2023 SHEROCKS showcase in Washington, DC represented Berklee’s Jazz and Gender Justice Institute at the 2023 Detroit Jazz Festival Collegiate competition and Reno Jazz festival and performed with Terry Lyne Carrington at the 2024 BAMSfest. She is ISJAC’s 2022 winner of the Emerging Black Composers prize.
