We are Chikara The Boy. We are a unit based in Tokyo, Japan blending hip hop, rock and electronic music. We’ve drawn comparisons to Gorillaz, Linkin Park, and White Stripes. We are known for our high energy, dynamic performances, ear catching guitar riffs as well as mesmerizing finger drumming by NICORINA. When we started working together we set out to ultimately to play at festivals and venues all across the world. With that we wanted to be part of a larger musical ecosystem, meet artists and future fans organically, and most of all, to just have fun with it all! One of our biggest goals this year is to expand our reach outside of Japan and to connect with audiences and artists from around the world to enjoy and celebrate music in the form of live performances as well as for unexpected collaborations that will hopefully turn into lasting friendships. Other goals for 2026 include releasing a follow up EP to last year’s release “Two Is Company” and to get one step closer to achieving our mission.
