About

Richard

Redpath Traffic is a high-energy, cross-generational force in the Canadian indie scene, blending hard-rock grit with pop-punk precision. Based in the heart of Toronto, the band has built a reputation for anthemic songwriting and electric live performances that resonate with diverse audiences across Southern Ontario. Their debut album, “Under the Crimson Sun”, was helmed by legendary multi-award-winning producer Chris Birkett (Sinead O’Connor (“Nothing Compares 2 U”), Buffy Sainte-Marie), a collaboration that helped propel the band to over 100,000 Spotify streams. From the hard-rocking Toronto anthem “Dundas Square” to the infectious energy of their latest single “2Bites,” Redpath Traffic delivers a sound that is both nostalgic and fiercely contemporary. Redpath Traffic enjoys regular airplay on online and terrestrial stations, including FM and SiriusXM, and is featured on music podcasts. Frontman/singer-songwriter/lead guitarist Richard Todd also leads the acclaimed charity ensemble Artists Against Homelessness, whose award-winning single “The Forgotten Homeless” (produced by Birkett) supports housing initiatives through WoodGreen Community Services and earned Todd a Community Service Award in Arts & Culture. The current lineup – Todd, Mike Taylor (bass/vocals), Gareth Pike (guitar), and Tony T. (drums/backing vocals) – delivers high-energy, cross-generational performances that pack Southern Ontario venues with enthusiastic crowds.
