Skystar is redefining Canadian reggae on the global stage, blazing a trail from Alberta’s icy streets with a fresh sound and unmatched energy. The first solo Reggae/Dancehall artist from Alberta to earn a Juno Awards nomination, he continues to make history while elevating Western Canada presence in reggae music. Born in Mud Town, St. Andrew, Jamaica, Skystar found his voice early. Music became his escape and purpose, and by the age of 15, his debut single “Si Mi Yah” was already receiving heavy rotation on Jamaican radio. Since then, his artistry has evolved into a powerful blend of reggae, dancehall, and modern fusion influences rooted in authenticity and live experience. His growing catalog includes standout tracks such as ” High And Live” featuring Shane-O, “Gonna Be Ok” featuring Jah Vinci, “Karma”, and ” Wheel & Come Again”, each highlighting his lyrical depth, versatility, and signature sound. In 2025, Skystar was nominated in four categories at the Reggae North Music Awards, taking home Best Trap Fusion Song of the Year. His latest single, “Wheel & Come Again” debut #6 on 105.5 FM, RebelVibez’s Top 10 Canadian Reggae Chart, earning national airplay and praise from reggae tastemakers.
