Singer-songwriter Rachella Wred is a West Coast transplant currently living in Montreal. Split
between the ambience of the Montreal bustle and the pull of the Pacific Ocean, her personal
lyrics and soaring melodies capture the delicacy and transience of human emotion with
specificity and ease. Equipped with her acoustic guitar, SP404, synth, and intimate songwriting,
she has filled rooms across Canada. Folk music and writing have given her the space to explore
storytelling through music, drawing on the sounds of her surroundings and of the natural world.
She has been featured in Exclaim, CBC, The Line of Best Fit, Billboard Canada, Range
Magazine, and Montreal Guardian. Written around intimate endings and beginnings, Leave The
Light On, released in April 2025, is Rachella Wred’s debut album. It has charted over 10 weeks
on !earshot’s national campus and community radio report since it’s release and continues to gain
momentum, resonating with listeners across the country.
