Three continents, plenty of BBQs, and multiple kilts.
Paul Harper’s radio journey began at 13, making coffee, answering phones and learning the ropes. By 15, he was skipping school to cover afternoon drive. At 17, he was on mornings, by 19 he was DJing with Moby and at 21, he appeared in an Xbox game. In 2006, what started as an Aussie gap year became a career defining moment when Paul landed a gig at Sydney’s 2Day FM, just as the new Kyle & Jackie O morning show launched. “It was intense. Australia made me who I am.” The next decade saw Paul with the Heart Network in the UK, where he met his wife, started a family, and eventually made a life changing move to Canada in 2020. “Brexit and the independence vote pushed us to look for better opportunities and more life
experience.”
Stingray Radio brought Paul to boom 97.3, then mornings on 93.5 Today Radio. “I loved my time there. 93.5 sounded great, researched well and our P1’s loved us. There just weren’t enough of them.” Paul now hosts mornings on JACK 102.3 out of London, Ontario. The Harper family are proud, passport carrying Canadians, live on a farm and Paul recently launched a BBQ channel: @bbqinthesnow
