Moyu Zee is a contemporary avant-garde pianist and composer whose work transcends conventional boundaries between art, technology, and nature. She earned her degree from the New England Conservatory, where she studied under legendary improvisation pioneers Ran Blake and Hankus Netsky. Zee is also the founder of “The Zee Code”, an innovative ensemble featuring elite musicians from NEC and Berklee College of Music, dedicated to exploring new sonic frontiers. Their collaborative work “Obsessed with the Moon” has received multiple international honors, including awards at the Prokofiev International Music Competition, GRAMOPHONE International Music Competition and and ISAC International Popular Music Composition Zee’s pioneering spirit shines through her cross-disciplinary projects. For the “2025 Museum Night” at Beijing’s National Museum of Natural History, she created “Dim Light of Life” using bio-electrical technology to translate plant life rhythms into music, establishing a unique cross-species dialogue. Similarly, at Zaha Hadid’s Meixi Lake Art Museum in Changsha, she led interactive performances that transformed architectural concepts into immersive sound experiences. Her creative output includes five acclaimed albums, establishing her as a distinctive voice in contemporary music through her experimental approach and profound humanistic insight.
