Poolgirl is a five-piece alt-punk group based in Montreal, QC. Combining riot grrl and punk influences with melodic indie rock, the band brings an equally antagonistic and cheerful energy to playing music, with singsong harmonies interspersed with distorted breakdowns, screams and laughter. Since releasing the demo “is this it???” in January 2024, Poolgirl have been playing live nonstop, from DIY basement and outdoor venues to festivals and showcases. Live shows devolve into sweaty parties offering free reign for the band to jump, scream and fall onto one another, both on and off stage. With an emphasis on maintaining live spaces that are safe for everyone, Poolgirl shows consistently bring out a crowd of friends to dance, mosh and scream along.
