Mélanie Brulée

Executive Director, Ottawa Music Industry Coalition & Founder, Capital Music Week

About

A driving force shaping the future of Ottawa’s music scene, Mélanie Brulée first made her mark
as a Franco-Ontarian touring singer-songwriter, performing on stages around the world before
expanding her career across the music industry as an event producer, publicist, artist manager,
workshop facilitator, radio tracker, and business development consultant. Driven by a deep
commitment to building community, she founded a women-led collective of songwriters and has
received awards for her work in mental health awareness.

As Executive Director of the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) since 2022, Melanie now
channels her passion and experience into fostering a vibrant and inclusive music ecosystem in
the region. She’s a connector, a collaborator, and an advocate with a history of delivering
high-impact results.

Melanie’s leadership extends to key roles within the network of music cities in Ontario,
solidifying her commitment to advancing the music industry in Ottawa and beyond. She is the
President of the Board of Directors of Nuit Blanche Ottawa and the founder of Capital Music
Week (CxMW), taking place October 2-10, 2026.
