Born in Toronto, Megan Soo is a multiracial Asian Canadian singer-songwriter and DJ who spent her childhood growing up in Trinidad and Tobago, shaping a bold, global sound rooted in identity and rhythm. Drawing from her Trinidadian, and mixed asian heritage, Megan blends influences such as soca, dancehall, and reggae with pop, while incorporating Korean into her lyrics as a way of honoring her cultural roots. Her artistry is shaped by growing up between cultures; never feeling “Caribbean or Asian enough,” and not fitting expectations of what she was “supposed” to look or sound like. That in-between space fuels her creative mission: to empower anyone who has ever felt out of place, using music as a space where individuality is celebrated rather than questioned. Megan has taken her original music across the United States on a cross-country tour with Boys of Summer, performing in over 25 cities. As a DJ, she recently played her first international sets across India, blending her own music into an East Coast–inspired mix of dancehall, soca, and Jersey club for a global audience.
