Toronto-based singer-songwriter Matt Von has steadily carved a place for himself in Canada’s music scene, first emerging as part of a collaborative sibling duo with his sister, Sarah Jordan. Raised in a musically driven household, Matt began studying acoustic guitar at eight, quickly expanding his love for songwriting and performing. In 2018, he and Sarah officially launched their duo, releasing original music and performing across Toronto. In 2020, Matt stepped into his solo career, blending pop and acoustic roots with subtle country and folk influences. His heartfelt storytelling and raw, organic sound first took center stage with his debut single, Help With Something, a touching tribute to his parents that resonated deeply with listeners. After time away from releasing music, Matt returned in 2024 with new songs shaped by profound personal experiences. His single, still in my heart — written for his mother after her passing in 2023, offers a universal message of grief, love and remembrance. He followed with “The One for Me”, a soul filled dedication to his partner and a celebration of true love. His first 2025 release, My Favorite Place, continues his blend of pop and country while showcasing vivid lyric storytelling.
