About

Matías

Born in the UK, raised in Peru, and based in Vancouver, Matías Roden weaves global influences into a distinct synth-pop tapestry that examines identity, queerness, and the restless search for meaning. His 2024 debut EP ‘The Plea’, produced by acclaimed writer-producer Louise Burns (Haley Blais, Hotel Mira) earned CBC radio airplay for the single “Close Your Eyes” as well as a Western Canadian Music Awards nomination for the track’s Victorian-themed, queer-focused music video, and led to numerous festival appearances in Canada. In fall 2025, Matías embarked on his first international tour supporting UK star Tom Aspaul with dates in North America and Europe, helping cement his place within the underground queer pop community. With his full-length debut album ‘The Verdict’ having arrived fall 2025 via Light Organ/604 Records and a new raft of international shows planned for 2026, Matías continues to chase unflinching honesty in all its heartbreaking, hopeful forms.
