Doctor Tongue is a Canadian sextet formed in early 2022 as the world was beginning to venture out following the covid-19 lockdowns. Assembled from past members of Torque Hound and Radio Free Universe, the band draws inspiration from the greats of the past and present of rock, soul, funk, and country. In their first year, they played The Come Together Music Festival in Durham and local venues The Corktown and The Casbah. Following the untimely death of their founding guitarist, the band mourned then regrouped and reformed playing CTMF again and Festival of Friends before settling on their current lineup and returning to The Corktown in October of 2023. With the help of publicist Eric Alper and social media campaigns, they have grown their local and international audience. They are currently recording tracks for their second LP, releasing singles for streaming, and playing live shows wherever and whenever they can.
