Marco Claveria was born in Santiago,Chile.He started guitar lessons at age 10, learning to play the basics of Chilean Folklore. In 1982 he emigrated to Canada, and after a period of transition, he re-immersed himself in music and began taking part of different musical ensembles in the city of Edmonton. He has worked with Alex Cuba,Orlando Valle “Maraca” Marco has toured all across Canada,South and North America. In 2016 he released “Origins” which got him a nomination for best album at the WCMA awards.And runner up at the Edmonton Music Prize On his 2018 release “Algo en Comun”,”Something in Common” As a founding member of “Bomba” he opened for such luminary acts as Angelique Kidjo,Cubanismo, Mayra Valdez,Al Green and Aron Naville. On his album “Something In Common” Marco challenges himself and tries something different.Fusing Celtic and Afrocuban elements. On his latest release “Nueva Creacion” Marco further explores this fusion. Aside from having his longtime band memmbers,once again he collaborates with members of the McDades and Wil Campa y su gran union. “Nueva Creacion” got him 3 nominations at the Latin Awards Canada. Best Video( Park Inn Session), best album and Best Producer, this last one which he won.
