Drawing inspiration from the darker corners of pop, rock and songwriting, Mackenzie Arromba
blends the emotional intensity of artists like Nessa Barrett and Chandler Leighton with the
atmospheric edge of early Evanescence and the vulnerability of Billie Eilish. Her fragile and
fierce voice allows her music to live in the space where pain becomes clarity. Mackenzie’s
relationship with music began at age four, after watching The Phantom of the Opera and
becoming utterly obsessed with the soundtrack. She was quickly pulled into classical and jazz
training, eventually performing at weddings, clubs, and community events with a local jazz
guitarist who helped shape her ear and instinct for emotional delivery. Growing up between
Alliston, Oro Medonte, Barrie, and now residing just outside Brampton, she often felt unseen.
That lingering sense of isolation weaves through her writing, with many of her songs taking
shape alone, late at night, in the quiet spaces.
