Known for her diary-like confessional songwriting style and haunting vocals, Lora Mouna uses music as a vessel to capture moments of vulnerability within herself and her relationships. Her music reflects on her shadow work and healing, flowing between indie-rock, folk, and middle eastern sounds – intertwining the different sonic experiences from her culture and inspirations. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Lora’s musical journey started with hearing her Syrian mother sing and play piano at a very young age, which has become an endless well of inspiration to write music herself. In 2023, Lora made the decision to move to New York City to immerse herself in music and recently released her biggest project yet: an EP called “phases of becoming”, serving as a reminder of continual growth and evolution despite moments of relapse and stagnation.
