Kat Pereira

About

Kat Pereira is a Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and synesthete. Known as a keyboardist,
guitarist, bassist, flutist, and backing vocalist in various projects including Alfa Rococo, Eli
Rose, Alex Nevsky, Laura Niquay, and Noé Lira, she steps out of her chameleon role to reveal
her true self through a luminous, maximalist alternative electropop sound, inspired by queens
like Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Saya Gray. Her name became widely known as a finalist
in Les Francouvertes, Montreal’s renowned music competition. Kat Pereira blends powerful
poetry with catchy melodies to explore themes both intimate and universal: colonialism,
feminism, and the search for identity. With Félix Petit (Les Louanges, Hubert Lenoir, Ariane
Roy) by her side, she released vert de lichen in fall 2025, her debut album colored with pale
green hues of D-flat. On stage, she is joined by her invaluable allies Marie Gilaine Louis, Paul
Lamontagne, and Guillaume Picard. Together, the group creates a unique, maximalist, and
vibrant universe where soul, hyperpop, jazz, and electronic music collide—an offering for a
world in need of light, playfulness, and solid beats to imagine a softer tomorrow.
