Born in Cairo, creative illustrator Karim Terouz braved the Canadian winters in 2008 when he relocated to Montreal to pursue his dream of songwriting. The move saw him release two albums with his folk rock, brassy quintet The Rising Few which he also fronted, before re-emerging in 2019 as the retro pop crooner, TEROUZ. Terouz found his sound by creatively utilizing his resonant and nuanced “Bowie-esque” waver to string together his original 90s nostalgia & 80s electro-inspired songs. ”Hypno-noir ‘’ he calls it, a cinematic, muscular sound imbued with wickedly erotic sensations, rife with intensity yet soothing with its pacing.‘’It’s like Cohen on a treadmill !’’ Describes the Egyptian/Canadian frontman His first single “Outstanding” (2019) has been deemed one of the year’s best songs by California’s Rawckus magazine . In 2023, Tiger Girl was released and hailed as ‘’An Instant Classic’’ by The Wild Is Calling Us. Terouz is currently writing his debut EP ‘’Harder’’ which is due end of 2026.
