Karan Chahal is a music and entertainment lawyer, executive producer, and industry advisor working at the intersection of law and culture. Before practicing law, Karan was deeply embedded in music as a creator and producer, giving him first-hand experience navigating artist development, release strategies, and the realities of building a career in today’s industry. That foundation continues to shape his work as he now advises artists, producers, managers, and industry stakeholders on recording agreements, publishing, distribution, intellectual property strategy, and cross-border growth. He has served in-house with an independent record label, contributing to release strategy, rights management, and business development initiatives. Today, through LSC Law, he bridges corporate structure with creative ambition – advising across music, entertainment, and entrepreneurial ventures with a focus on ownership and long-term positioning. Karan also serves as a Board Member of Young Music Professionals (YMP), supporting governance and strategic development within Canada’s evolving creative ecosystem. His work is grounded in both lived industry experience and structured legal strategy, helping artists and creative businesses build sustainable careers in a rapidly shifting landscape.
