Jon Hales is VP and Country Lead for SiriusXM Media Canada, where he leads revenue, strategy, and growth across streaming audio, podcasting, and digital media. He’s spent more than 20 years in media—long enough to have worked through multiple “next big things,” a few that stuck, and many that didn’t.
Prior to SiriusXM, Jon was Chief Growth Officer for Global Media & Entertainment / DAX in North America and held several senior leadership roles at Spotify, including Country Manager, Canada; Head of Latam Sales; and Global Head of Revenue Strategy & Operations. Across those roles, he helped scale revenue across 100+ markets, build global sales infrastructure, and bring podcast and streaming monetization into the mainstream.
Earlier in his career, Jon held leadership roles at AOL, Bell Media, and CTV—back when digital was still a line item and not the entire plan.Today, he spends most of his time helping brands align with how people actually consume media—and occasionally explaining why “we’ve always done it this way” isn’t a strategy.
