Pot Is Drugs is an alternative rock band from London, Ontario, formed in 2021 by four friends who probably should have started a podcast but picked up instruments instead. Their music blends melodic grit, emotional honesty, and driving guitars into a sound they call Southern Ontario awkrock, taking influence from The Strokes, Jack White, The Black Keys, Cage the Elephant, Superheaven, and Basement. Over the past few years, the band has been steadily building a presence across Ontario through consistent live performances and a growing catalogue of original music. They have played events such as VENUExVENUE 2025, Gainfest 2024, Fanshawe Frosh Week, and the London City of Music Concert Series, and have opened for Canadian icon Biff Naked. They were selected for the 2025 LBMX Musicians Mentorship Program through the London Arts Council, gaining mentorship, industry development, and performance opportunities during London Music Week. Their self-titled debut EP, released in 2025, reflects the honesty, emotion, and awkwardness of being human. The project captures range in their songwriting and energy they bring to the stage, pushing their sound into its strongest form yet. With new music planned for 2026, the band continues to grow, create, and build meaningful connections with listeners.
