Born and raised in Ottawa, hans! studied music at Carleton University, developing a strong foundation in composition and performance. He first made his mark touring as a member of The Tackies, playing shows across Canada and building a reputation for engaging, high-energy performances. When the band disbanded in 2020 due to the pandemic, hans! started from scratch—building his own studio and teaching himself music production during lockdown. Now based in Montreal, hans! has continued shaping a distinctive indie pop sound that’s melodic, emotional, and slightly off-centre.
