From the heart of Oshawa, Ontario, emerges Paper Cages, an indie-folk ensemble known for their haunting vocals and hypnotizing melodies. Founded in 2021, the band features 3 experienced musicians – Jessie Houston on vocal, acoustic guitar and ukulele; Chris Wunderlich on electric guitar; and Dan Reiff on drums. Drawing influences from classic folk, jazz and rock artists, Paper Cages captivates audiences with their introspective and thought-provoking sound. They have recorded 4 songs that showcase their varied influences and songwriting ability: Blue is dreamy atmospheric pop, Sometimes I Wake is subtle and poignant, while Live It is more danceable and forward-looking, and Wrong Side begins quietly and builds are strongly. Paper Cages are starting 2026 by playing at Wintersong Festival in Stouffville. They look forward to playing more shows and continuing to release songs that resonate deeply, echoing long after the last note has been played.
