About

Cormac

Diamond Day delivers dreamlike soundscapes at the intersection of dreampop and folk, where glitch-pop rhythms collide with near-exploding, saturated guitars. Formed by two self-proclaimed “weirdos,” the duo unites Béatrix Méthé (Rosier) and Quinn Bachand, artists raised in parallel folk scenes on opposite coasts of Canada. Their music thrives on the tension between age-old traditions and modern dream-pop techniques, a push-and-pull that has defined their songwriting and production since their first collaboration in 2019. That vision came to fruition on their 2024 debut, Connect the Dots, followed by a year of adventurous remixes from artists including Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and Sonic Boom. Méthé’s magnetic voice and introspective lyrics pierce through Bachand’s whirlwind noise-pop, conjuring a kind of retro-futuristic euphoria. Now, Diamond Day turns the page with Oubliette, a French-language EP steeped in indie rock and gothic folk, hinting at an exciting new direction for the band.
