Carly Reirson’s commitment to vulnerability in her music, paired with her old soul, has set out to usher in a new wave of contemporary folk to the Canadian music scene. Known for her emotive vocals and introspective lyrics, this Alberta-born, Vancouver-based songwriter delves into the complexities of grief, healing, and love with honesty and depth. Her latest album, Diary of a Beating Heart—produced by Juno Award-winner Murray Pulver— invites listeners into moments of stillness, courage, and connection. Onstage, she creates an intimate, yet powerful experience; painting emotional landscapes with her soulful tones, raw lyricism and her tender, yet powerful voice. Reirson first made her mark on the national music scene in 2016 with her debut EP, Fantasy, which received two nominations at the 2017 Calgary Music Awards. In 2018, her single “Crooner Sing To Me” won the Calgary Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year, and in 2023, her single “Aurora” won the Calgary Music Award for Folk Recording of the Year. With her prolific songwriting and commitment to artistic integrity, proving that she is a much-needed voice for the depth and culture of Canadian music.
