Matt Holubowski emerged with the independent release Ogen, Old Man (2014) before signing with Audiogram and breaking through with Solitudes (2016), which sold over 45,000 copies, earned Gold certification, and received two ADISQ nominations. His profile quickly expanded through extensive touring across Canada, the United States, and Europe, both as a headliner and alongside international artists. In 2020, he released Weird Ones, a record shaped by the constraints of the pandemic yet supported by an ambitious series of solo and full-band performances, totaling more than 60 shows across Canada and Europe. His most recent album, Like Flowers on a Molten Lawn (2023), produced with Pietro Amato, marks a significant artistic evolution, emphasizing experimentation, detailed composition, and expanded sonic textures. The album earned the Félix Award for Anglophone Album of the Year, along with a nomination for Anglophone Show of the Year. In 2024, he released the EP Somewhere, Someone, composed of material recorded during the album sessions. Matt Holubowski is currently preparing a new album scheduled for release in late fall 2026.
