Absolight is a rising alternative rock trio from Quebec, Canada, born from the spontaneous reunion of drummer Antony Jomphe and twin brothers Olivier and Carl Ricard, long-time friends and former bandmates. What began as an impromptu jam session quickly evolved into a fully formed project. Drawing strong inspiration from the legacy of British rock, Absolight blends energetic alternative rock with rich textures and memorable melodies. Their music, shaped in close collaboration with David Beaudry—a friend and behind-the-scenes co-composer and arranger—often transcends genre boundaries, incorporating elements of punk, pop, and even classical music. This eclectic identity has earned them comparisons to major British rock acts like Muse. Absolight has performed at numerous events, sharing stages with established bands such as Papa Roach and Simple Plan, captivating audiences with electrifying live shows. 2025 marks a major milestone, with the band performing internationally for the first time in the United States and Europe. This year also sees the release of their debut album Frames, featuring four previously released singles, including You Are Right and their latest track, Alien People.
