Afrique Like Me is a Toronto-based collective that curates musical experiences celebrating art, electronic dance, underground, and alternative sounds from Africa and the diaspora. It is also a pioneer of Eko Electronic: a genre-blending fusion of alternative electronic music, funk, underground elements, West African rhythms, and Afrobeats. Afrique Like Me’s event series, which bears the dame name, began as an intimate after-hours party in Toronto’s west end and evolved into a signature event series that’s now a fixture on the city’s social calendar. Afrique Like Me’s events transform unconventional spaces into global dance experiences rooted in creativity and community. Afrique Like Me is currently producing its debut album, slated for release in 2026, the project an evolution of its sound and story that continues to push African electronic music into new, global territory.
