Leah Jane is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and actress hailing from St. John’s, Newfoundland. Her sound is a unique blend of dreamy alt-pop and indie pop, drawing inspiration from artists like Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers, Tim Baker, and Joni Mitchell. Leah’s debut EP Nottingham Drive (released in Sept. of 2024 via AWAL) has accrued more than 70 thousand organic spins on Spotify since its release. A heartfelt collection of songs that pay homage to her roots and childhood in Newfoundland, the EP radiates a vulnerable, intimate energy that speaks to the depth of her budding artistry. In 2025, Leah performed throughout DEPARTURE Fest, making appearances at the SOCAN Songwriters circle as well as SoFar Sounds’ pop-up at Reid’s Distillery. Cast in a supporting roles in the upcoming series “The Westies” with JK Simmons (MGM+, 2026) and Slo Pitch, exec. produced by Elliot Page (Crave), Leah continues to leave an indelible imprint wherever she lands. Having received funding from Arts Newfoundland in support of her debut album, “Sugar, Butter, Elbow Grease,” Leah is on a trajectory that will concretely show that she is one of Canada’s most exciting new artists ready to blossom on the world stage.
