Celebrating the craft of music supervision in filmed media with the sync community in Canada

Toronto, ON – May 12, 2025 – Congratulations to the winners of the Fifth Canadian Sync Awards!

On Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at Annabel’s Music Hall in Toronto, the Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada, in partnership with Departure Festival + Conference, held the 2025 Canadian Sync Awards, celebrating music supervisor excellence and the sync community in Canada for their fifth awards ceremony.

The night featured stellar performances by Goldie Boutilier, Thunder Queens and Sebastian Gaskin.

In addition, the Impact Award was presented to Broken Social Scene, whose longtime member Charles Spearin enraptured the sold-out audience of 270 with “Music for 32 Phones Played Simultaneously” that turned the audience into an orchestra. By scanning a seat-specific QR code, each participant’s phone triggered a unique audio track, creating a synchronized and immersive soundscape.
