Michaela Slinger

About

Michaela Slinger is a legendary songbird-in-the-making (Dan Mangan), writing from the place
where love, loss, longing, and uncertainty overlap. Her recent EP THERE’S STiLL TiME YET
and forthcoming LP GREEN AND TRYiNG mark a turning point toward her natural home as a
singer-songwriter. Recorded at Protection Island Studios with David Vertesi (Haley Blais, Hey
Ocean!) and Jonathan Anderson (Ocie Elliott, Field Guide), both projects explore the
unanswered questions that accompany the ending of her twenties. Michaela’s voice and
emotional precision have led her to share stages with artists like Dermot Kennedy, Donovan
Woods, Sasha Alex Sloan, and Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. Her sophomore record, This Can’t
Last Forever (604 Records) was written between her muse cities of Nashville, Los Angeles,
Vancouver, and Toronto, collaborating with Khalid Yassein (Wild Rivers) and Ryan Stewart
(Carly Rae Jepsen). The release earned acclaim from RANGE, The Georgia Straight, Portside
Live, Daily Hive, and CBC Music, and helped cement her rise, including a nomination for Pop
Artist of the Year at the 2024 Western Canadian Music Awards, the cover of Amazon Music’s
Fresh Folk & Acoustic playlist, spotlighting on SiriusXM’s Poplandia: About To Break, and a
feature on CBC Music’s Songs You Need To Hear.
